Show results and a great weekend.

Ace placed ok at AQHA. Something got into him. He was wicked. Two of his mares should pop tonight, it's the only thing we can think (and the weird weather) that made him misbehave. If he would have stood square and quiet I think he'd have done better. Either way he took home a red and blue in halter. But lost the grand or reserve. We're going to start taking him on day long trail rides (starting this week) to put lots of wet saddle blankets on him and get him going better. We're going to be taking him to some open shows before AQHA again (in April) and taking him to team sorting on Saturdays in North Florida.

Here are some shots of him and his ribbons. He won a picture frame, too. Thanks 4H kids!

I had a great weekend. I always love going up to Dun Dreamin. Dena is doing great and totally Ace's most recent wife in his harem. They're inseperable right now. lol Here's some pictures from the weekend. Look for updates soon. Two Commander babies should hit the ground any time now!

They're going to have one bad ass baby.

Now to get back to reality, laundry and family. We got in this afternoon. I already went hiking with my son in one of the forest heads. We're trying to make it a regular event. The weather today is gorgeous! Wish it would have been so nice my whole trip up north.

GET OUTSIDE TODAY!!!
Don't waste your Sunday sitting in the house.
Here are some shots from this afternoon.

Phew...

Just now got home from the ER..no no it wasn't me. Kim got pretty beat up.

She'll be ok. But it always takes a hit to anyone who gets hurt working with horses. Beyond the physical part of it.

FCAT testing starts tomorrow/today? What time is it?

The show is coming up this weekend. I'll be leaving here Wed or Thurs to head up north to prep and ride Ace, and put some miles on Twister.

That is all

/bed time

Finally..

..a day off.

Well sort of. I'm doing some online stuff and later hanging with my son. But I needed a break.

Indi gets his coggins pulled Monday. And a health cert!! I'm going to swing by tomorrow and bring him the toy I made him. So I'll get some more pics of him.

I will tactfully say his adoption is pending. He's still adoptable but I have a family in mind taking an active interest. I'll update more on that later on.

I guess even I have fears I have to face, huh?

Now why is it, this is safe to me..at least in my mind.:

But the thought of driving or being in a two wheel cart behind a horse has always scared the holy bananas out of me?

Well, thanks to Nancy, I finally rode in one. And hell yes I was nervous.. too much keeping me in there. But once she let me drive, it was great fun. Might not be something I'd really be into.. but it was fun trying it. And I give Nancy and her wonderful gelding much kudos. It's like speaking another language to me. But the things that horse can do in a cart rivals what most people I know can't do in the saddle with their horses. Here are some shots I took from the cart and then some of Nancy, who can now rightfully call me a wimp, at least when it comes to that. ha!

It was really fantastic.. but like I said, maybe not so much for me. It certainly was humbling, learning something new. I sure couldn't cart start a horse anytime soon.. maybe a mini..

Worked with Mandie, she was a little pissy, but I think it's her first heat. We ended things on a good note. And she picked her feet up and lunged left for Nancy, which really made me happy.

Tomorrow I am taking the day off.. I need it. These AQHA shows are looming this coming weekend and I need a break first!

Mindy's feet and some pictures of Indy

schedule was whack yesterday.. So I got to Mandie (Thanks traffic) a little on the late side so we decided to tackle the foot issues. Finally got those hind feet off the ground. Without anyone getting a Mandie Moment.

Visited Indi... he is so beautiful.

Thanks Kim (Kimba Photography)

Remember India? (And I hate my jeep today)

Well, I was going to work with Mandie today.. and something is locking up my steering wheel and my tires keep losing air...aaahhh!!!!

Bobby will be fixing it tomorrow..

Remember India? Stephanie and Scott from Dun Dreamin gave her to The Gonzalez family. If you forgot, she's a... well, I'll let them tell you. Here she is in a 7th grade Science project with all of her "kids".

What a badly decorated christmas tree might sound like on a horse.. and bike week comes in handy.

Worked Mandie first today.. we smothered her in beads and jingle bells.. (listen to the video) lunged her, then she went for a walk around the farm and down the road.. with a motor bike behind her honking.. 0 response from her.. at least with the motor bike.. have some pics and a video below...

Getting it right cantering on the line..never once ran out on me.

Ground tying some more...

BEEP BEEP!!!!

Afterwards I whizzed over to Christmas to give Kim and Titan a showmanship lesson before their upcoming show. They did REALLY well!

Went to see the rescue.. I am SO in love. He is posted below. Please watch and READ his video.

~~I just met the prettiest horse I have ever seen~~

Had a long day. I have another post coming after this one of Mandie (still working on a cool video of her from today de spooking with ALL KINDS of things.) and Kim/Titan.. Give me another 20 before I repost.

I met the 3 yo proud cut colt up for adoption.. here are the details below and the video. Please contact me if interested.

Here is his ad info:

Hi! My name is Indi and I need a forever home. I was sent to foster care. My foster mom loves me. She was supposed to have me for 4 month.. it's been a year and a half. I am partially castrated. Someone, it seems, rubber band castrated me and now I have a scar "down there" and only 1 testicle. I need a new home because I am so lonely. I want to play with another horse. I have a trainer volunteering time to teach me things. I'm a really good boy, and I promise I'll be a great horse for you. PLEASE watch AND read my video. It was taken 3/3/2010. The very first day I met my new trainer. She promised to find me the best home she could. I am available for adoption for $200.00. I will be contracted for first buy back and new owners will be screened and get 3 home visits before I am totally yours. I promise I learn fast and will work very hard not to be at the auction. I am a loving, fun horse. My foster mom loves me so much. And my new "friend" the trainer would love to take me if her schedule wasn't so full. I am an arabian with some paint, this is where my neat color comes from. No one knows if I ever had papers. Again, PLEASE read and watch my whole video. This is all I did and learned in 2 hours.  I'm just waiting for a green pasture and hopefully a nice gelding buddy to play with. You can find me on equinenow.com under foster abandoned, Hi my name is Indi
(blog note.. working on equinenow ad right now.)

This is the first time I met this horse. God I wish I could take him. He is so good. I'm doing all I can to get him a good, forever home. He is gorgeous.. I really had fun playing chase with him. He's a real lover. I could almost see him at Arabian night or some kind of entertainment show or in the movies. He's fantastic. He is up for adoption with a return contract and 3 farm calls (some not announced) before we will release his original coggins and any other information on him. $200.00 Adoption Fee.

This is the strangest weather

One minute it's pouring, then it's sunny and windy, then its cloudy and windy enough to blow all my stuff all over the patio, then it rains again.. ug.

Well in my time of freedom, I built a reference site for Ace and babies for sale etc. It's much easier to keep up with the shows, pts etc this way. And gives you a chance to see his offspring, grow throughout his new performance career, and new babies that hit the ground. Right now I am sub domaining it. I will get a domain name in a week or so.

Spring showers... bleh

The weather is horrid. I'm sitting here waiting to see what happens and if I can get out to Mandie and get stuff done. Otherwise I'll have to move her to tomorrow morning. It's supposed to get nicer out.

I ADDED THE VIDEO AND MORE DRIVING PICS OF MANDIE TO THE POST BELOW THIS ONE! (THANKS NANCY!!)

I was also sent two pictures from one of the first days I ever worked her. Her sister (Twister) was giving her a hand at going over ground poles. How cute!

Hopefully I get something done today. Wish me luck.
